This is the story of the rise and fall of a fictional town named Pronounsville. The people here are strange and unassuming and this story is about how their naivety cost them the only thing that set them apart from any other place on the planet. Real or imaginary.
I had started to count kindness on my fingers. If you were like me, you barely got enough of it to fill in one hand, but I took what I could; I still do. I had learnt to lick it in scraps, taking whatever I could and storing it in a jar made of hope and I took a bit more out of it than I should have every time I was told I wasn’t enough. Which was every day.
We live for the people around us. If we are scared of death, it is only in part because of the pain, the rest is a mind-numbing fear of losing what we know, who we know. There is family, there are friends. But sometimes, we find that relationships form in the most unlikely of places. It might be a negative one, no matter. Only, we might never fully comprehend the depth of it till we face a void that cannot be filled, till death and damnation. Can hate cause a wistfulness as potent as love?
Inhale confidence, exhale doubt. If you don’t believe in yourself, why would anyone believe in you?
Self-confidence is the key which opens the door to a million possibilities. Keeping that door locked will only limit your opportunities for success. So, dive in to find out how to identify low self-confidence traits and how to build it right up.
Many of us, students and young adults assume that success is the amount of money and the number of material things we possess, which makes us hustle for them. In this process of hustling for tomorrow’s success, do we forget about today’s happiness?
From arguing with them for giving us less marks in tests, to thanking them after a meritorious result in the boards, we all grew up
and so grew the respect for a sometimes-motherly-sometimes-fatherly-and-sometimes-friendly figure we all loved and hated at the same time
Here’s a quick question for you guys: what do you think I’d be more successful at? Being a stand-up comedian or a foot model? (if that is even a thing) Because clearly, engineering isn’t working out very well.
Silence is a feel-good way to spend some time when you are upset, but not until you start suppressing your agonies and hardships. This is when you become a stoic. You think a million times, overthink and rethink before you say something. And by the time it starts choking you, you’d regret not having expressed it earlier.
It’s the little things that bother you to an extent nothing else does. It’s the little feelings that are hard to decipher and hard to tame. It’s difficult to get people to understand you, sometimes it’s difficult to understand yourself. But writing them down can make your heart feel a little lighter.
I don’t remember growing up, I can’t remember when I stopped asking for goodnight kisses or sliding into my parent’s bed after having a nightmare. I don’t remember when my morning routine changed from getting out of bed for breakfast to staying in and convincing myself that I am enough and I’m hardly convinced. I’m turning 20 next week and it feels a lot older than it’s supposed to.
